Saloni holds the international ISO 14001 certification, which establishes the requirements for implementing, developing and maintaining a management system involving the control of the environmental impact of its production process, with a focus on continuous improvement. The adoption of ISO 14001 as an environmental management tool by Saloni guarantees, among other things, compliance with the commitments established in its policy and improvement of its relationship with the environmental authorities and the community.

Since 2005, Saloni has had the Integrated Environmental Authorization (AAI), whose scope of action is aimed at preventing, reducing and controlling pollution of the atmosphere, water and soil, through the establishment of a system of integrated pollution prevention and control, in order to achieve a high level of protection for the environment as a whole. In addition, Saloni is an Authorized Manager, with No. 015/AAI/CV, of non-hazardous waste. The wastewater generated in the production process of ceramic tiles is fully recovered. Saloni is a company with zero discharge of industrial wastewater. Ceramic tiles that, for quality reasons, are removed from the production process before the firing stage, are recycled in their entirety.

On the other hand, Saloni is a member of ECOEMBALAJES ESPAÑA S.A (ECOEMBES), the organization that cares for the environment through the recycling and eco-design of packaging in Spain. In addition, we participate in the PEP: Business Plan for the Prevention of Packaging and Packaging Waste.

As part of the company’s environmental commitment, Saloni has certified its compliance with the standard UNE-EN ISO 14021 (Self-declared environmental claims – Type II environmental labelling) for the recycled content in its products of the groups BIa (porcelain) and BIIa (stoneware) and BIII (flooring). These self-declarations have been verified by Bureau Veritas to enhance the brand’s credibility and build customer trust.

The development of our active environmental policy has enabled us to obtain the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) eco-label for our range of ceramic products in groups BIa, BIIa and BIII. The EPD/EPD is a certified environmental declaration that communicates transparent and comparable information on the environmental impact throughout the LCA life cycle of a product in accordance with the International Standard UNE-EN ISO 14025 (Environmental Declarations Type III). Saloni EPDs are registered under the administration of the International EPD System – Environdec program.

Saloni also has the FDES environmental declaration (Fiche de Déclaration Environnementale et Sanitaire) under the AFNOR NF EN 15804 A1 standard. An FDES is a verified document that presents the results of the life cycle analysis of a product, as well as health information to calculate the environmental and health performance of a building that has been designed under ecological criteria.
